ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Entry fee is $25 Athletes and includes an official Sunshine State Games t-shirt. NO refunds.
  2. On-site registrations will be accepted from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19 only. There will be NO registration on Saturday! Only cash, checks and money orders will be accepted for on-site registration. Only special entry forms provided on-site will be accepted for on-site registration.
  3. All pre-registration entries must be received by July 18, 2018 or register online at www.flasports.com by June 18, 2018.
  4. Each applicant must complete an Individual Entry Form and Waiver of Liability and submit them by the entry deadline or register online.
  5. Females must sign a pregnancy waiver.
  6. It is the responsibility of the applicant to confirm their registration online or call toll-free 1-866-FL-GAMES (354-2637).
  7. All competitors, officials and coaches must be registered with USA Boxing.
  8. Please note USA Boxing membership number on Individual Entry Form under “NGB Membership #”.
  9. Please note weight class under section labeled “weight”.

Format

  1. J.O. BANTAM: three 1-minute rounds
  2. JUNIOR: three 1-minute rounds
  3. J.O. INTERMEDIATE: three 1.5-minute rounds
  4. J.O. SENIOR: three 2-minute rounds
  5. SENIOR NOVICE: three 2-minute rounds
  6. SENIOR OPEN: four 2-minute rounds

There will be one-minute rest periods between rounds.

WEIGHT CLASSES AND DIVISIONS

  1. Men’s Senior Category: Eleven weight classes – 106, 112, 119, 125, 132, 141, 152, 165, 178, 201 and 201+. Weight classes are for both domestic and international competition. These weight classes also apply to the Under 19 category.
  2. Women’s Senior Category: Weight classes as follows – 101, 106, 110, 114, 119, 125, 132, 138, 145, 154, 165, 176, 189 and 189+. Please note that the 189+ weight class is only for domestic competition.
  3. Junior Olympic Senior (ages 15 – 16) Division (Boys and Girls): This category is also referred to as “Cadets” by AIBA. The weight classes are as follows – 80, 85, 90, 95, 101, 106, 110, 114, 119, 125, 132, 138, 145, 154, 165, 176, 189, 201 and 201+. Please note that the 80, 85, 90, 95, 201 and 201+ weight classes are only for domestic competition.
  4. Junior Olympic Intermediate (ages 13 – 14) Division (Boys and Girls): The weight classes are as follows – 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 101, 106, 110, 114, 119, 125, 132, 138, 145, 154, 165, 176, 189, and 201.
  5. Junior Olympic Junior (ages 11 – 12) Division (Boys and Girls): The weight classes are as follows – 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 101, 106, 110, 114, 119, 125, 132, 138, and 145.
  6. Junior Olympic Bantam (ages 8 – 10) Division (Boys and Girls): Any beginning weight with 5 lb. graduation. The weight classes are 5 lbs increments as required. In this category if a boxer weighs 101 lbs, the boxer will compete in the 105 weight class.

SPORT RULES

  1. As established by the United States Amateur Boxing Inc. and The Sunshine State Games Boxing Event.
  2. All competitors must be registered with USA Boxing in order to box.
  3. All coaches MUST be certified before they are permitted to work.
  4. A registered boxer may serve as an assistant coach.
  5. Registration is available early by Fax or through an online service TBA. Early registration will save you time waiting in line.
  6. There is no Registration with USA Boxing or Renewal to be done before competition (there is NO USA Boxing registration the day of competition) competitors MUST have the following: Boxing Book with Registration, Physical, and Birth Certificate. Non-Athletes Must have their background updated, safe sport courses done and pass, and their membership up to date. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
  7. Athletes residing in Pensacola who are registered with USA Boxing may compete in Florida’s Sunshine State Games.
  8. Anyone in the boxer’s corner MUST be a member of USA Boxing.
  9. No one else will be allowed in the ring of the (FOP)Field Of Play.
  10. USA Boxing new year began January 1, 2008. All boxers must be registered. Call your Association for registration fees for USA Boxing.
